Every game in a Ruby Bingo session has its own pattern — the shape you need to complete on your card to call bingo. It changes game to game, and the caller announces it before each one.
You don't have to memorize them. Two things do the work for you:
Pattern assist greys out every square on your card that isn't part of tonight's pattern. What's left lit up is all you need.
Your best card floats to the top automatically, so the card closest to winning is always the one you're looking at.
But knowing the shapes makes the game far more fun. When you can see you're one number away, that's the best part of bingo.
The straight lines
The classic. Get five in a row.
Pattern | What you need |
One line — any | Any single line: across, down or corner to corner |
One line — vertical/horizontal | A single line across or down, but not diagonal |
One line — diagonal | A single line corner to corner |
The corners
Small, fast patterns. These games move quickly.
Pattern | What you need |
4 corners | The four corner squares of your card |
Corner stamp | A 2×2 block in one corner |
4 corner stamps | A 2×2 block in all four corners |
Small corner X | A small X shape in the corner |
5 around the corner | Five squares wrapping around a corner |
The frames and shapes
Pattern | What you need |
Small frame | The border of the inner 3×3 |
Large Frame | The full outside border of the card |
Diamond | A diamond through the middle |
Cross | A full cross through the centre |
Checkerboard | Alternating squares across the card |
Railroad tracks | Two parallel lines |
Arrow | An arrow shape |
The big ones
Pattern | What you need |
Block of 8 | An 8-square block |
Block of 9 | A 3×3 block |
Crazy T | A T shape — "crazy" means it counts in any rotation |
Crazy Kite | A kite shape, any rotation |
Crazy Pyramid | A pyramid, any rotation |
Champagne Glass | A champagne glass shape |
Layer Cake | Stacked rows, like layers of a cake |
"Crazy" just means rotation counts. A Crazy T is still a T whether it's the right way up, upside down, or on its side. That gives you four chances at the same shape.
Blackout
Blackout — also called a cover-all — means every single square on your card. It's the biggest pattern we run and it carries the biggest prizes, including our progressive jackpots.
Blackout games take longer, the room gets loud, and the last few numbers are the best moment of the night.
A tip for new players
Don't try to watch every card. Let auto-daub handle the marking, keep an eye on the card at the top of your screen, and listen to the caller. If you're close, you'll hear the room in chat before you see it yourself.
