The one thing to remember: when you get bingo, you have to press the Bingo button. It does not happen automatically.
This is the single most important thing to know about playing Ruby Bingo live. Your cards daub themselves, but claiming the win is yours to do.
What happens, step by step
The Bingo button appears. The moment one of your cards completes the pattern, a Bingo button appears on that card. Your best card is automatically moved to the top of your screen, so it'll be right in front of you.
You press it. Straight away. Don't wait to see if anything happens on its own — it won't.
The room stops. Our producer hears a heartbeat sound the moment you claim. The caller pauses the draw. No more balls until you're sorted.
Your card goes up on screen. The caller pulls up your card and checks it against the pattern, live, so everyone can see it's a genuine win.
Your nickname is announced. The caller reads out your nickname. This is your moment — enjoy it.
Your prize lands. Emeralds or Gold Coins are credited to your account within a few minutes.
If two people get bingo at once
It happens, and it's fine. If two players complete the pattern on the same ball, the prize is split between you. Each card gets checked on screen one at a time, so both wins are verified properly.
"Emeralds Closed" and "Gold Coins Closed"
You'll hear the caller say one of these mid-game. Here's what it means.
Most games have a prize in both currencies. When one of them has been won, that currency closes — but the game keeps going until the other one is won too.
So if you hear "Emeralds Closed", the Emerald prize has gone. If you're playing Gold Coin cards, keep going — your prize is still live. If you're playing Emerald cards, that game is done for you.
The Bingo button may still appear on closed cards. You can ignore it.
Do I have to be watching?
On free cards, yes. Free cards are present-to-win — you need to be in the session and press the button.
On Emerald or Gold Coin entries, no. If you've entered a session and can't make it, your winnings are credited anyway. You don't need to be there.
That said, being there is most of the fun.
